I purchased a used Ameritron ALS-600 solid state 600W PEP amplifier w/ matching ALS-600SPS Switching Power Supply. This will be connected to the Flex 6400M. Here it is:
Today I received a slightly used Begali Sculpture paddle, purchased recently on EBay. Here is the unboxing video and some photos: Here is the Kent Titanic Straight Key with a poster of the Titanic and the distress signal they sent.
Here is the WP2J Station, located in Florida. Rig is the Elad FDM-DUO, Heil Classic 5 Microphone, and Begali Pearl Paddle.
The Island Hunters ARC has just received its vanity callsign WP2J. A new QSL card has been designed by KB3IFH, soon to arrive. A copy of the license and QSL card is below:
I've decided to not let my VHF-UHF antenna go to waste...so I snagged an open box Whistler WS-1065 VHF-UHF Digital Trunking Scanner (photo below).
Today I agreed on a swap: My like-new Yaesu FT-991 for a Elad FDM-DUO SDR transceiver! Since I really don't like VHF/UHF, I decided to get this rig as a secondary SDR/backup rig. Thanks to Keith, NZ5F!
Our club moved its HQ to St. Thomas, USVI and has applied for vanity callsign WP2J.
I just received a mint Siltronix 1011-D frequency counter for the reproduction Siltronix 1011-D station, similiar to what I used as a CB/SSBer in 1978-1979.
I just received a new in the boxAstatic TUG-9 D-104 Microphone, never opened. Today, I unbox it. Stay tuned for a new video on my entire Astatic D-104 microphone collection. Here is a photo and unpacking video I made yesterday of my mint Siltronix 1011D....the same model I had when I was a CB/SSBer in the 1970s. I have also added a new-in-the-box OEM version of a Shure 444 microphone, which I also had with the Siltronix as a teen. Early in my CB SSB days of 1977 and 1978, I had a Siltronix 1011D as outlined on this web site. Well...I just had to have one! So I pulled the trigger on an excellent condition 1011D. Here is a photo of the Ebay listing. I will post it set up in my radio room when complete. I plan to find an SP-1011 speaker and Siltronix mike to go with it.
Here is a newly-acquired new old stock Heil HCL-5 Classic Microphone on a New Heil LB-1R Red Lighted Base. I plan on using this mike with the Yaesu FT-991 VHF-UHF rig. I picked these two items up separately. The Classic 5 I purchased from W6VHK, and the Heil base from Cheapham.com. Note the blue cover below. I put my callsign on the top myself. Heil used to offer this service for free back in he early 2000s, but no longer does.
Here is the first purchase of the new year.... a Bencher Hex Iambic Paddle, connected to my Drake 7 line:
With all of the spending that has taken place over the last two years, I'm going to try and settle into operating a bit more thriftly for . the new year hihi.
Today, the FCC issued the 2X1 callsign of NA8P to the Island Hunters ARC. Here is the QSL that we had designed:
I qualified for a 1500 prefix mixed endorsement this week, plus a WPX Digital Certificate (photos below):
