I found a ham selling a brand new Icom 7300 and Icom SP-38 external speaker, so the WP2J club purchased them and will be set up in the new station as soon as the tables arrive. Here they are still in the box. Photos will be posted once the radios are set up.
I ordered a 7' conference room table and a 4' desk for the ham station. Will post new pics once it has been set up.
I found a completely restored and refurbished 1946 Hallicrafters S-40 Receiver on Ebay, and it is on its way. I sold my National Receiver to make room for it. Here it is:
I pulled the trigger on a used Drake 2B Receiver to add to my collection. Here it is, in all of its 1961-1964 glory!
I decided to sell my Kenwood TS-711A and 811A VHF & UHF transceivers as I haven't really used them, and instead got a used Drake R8 Receiver from EBay (below) along with a new-in-the-box Drake MS8 Speaker. Here they are:
Here is my updated station equipment for the primary HF station:
Flex 6400M HF Transceiver, Acom 1000 1KW Amplifier, Palstar AT1KM Antenna Tuner, Palstar PM2000AM Wattmeter, Heil PR40G Microphone, and Begali Sculpture Iambic Paddle Since I have a 1KW amp now, I decided to sell my LDG AT600 Pro II and M600 watt meter, and purchase a used Palstar AT1KM manual antenna tuner. Here is a pic of it:
My Ameritron ALS-600 went on the fritz. So I sold it for parts, as well as the Begali Pearl paddle, Elad FDM-DUO Transceiver, and Vibroplex Original Deluxe Bug.......and pulled the trigger on a like-new Acom 1000 1000W 160M-6M HF Amplifier, purchased from W9BB. UPDATE: It's here! I received it set up for 240V, but I wired a plug on it for 125V, replaced the 10A fuses to 20A, and am ready to change the DIP switches inside for the voltage change.
I ordered the W6VLP Amplified Receive-Only Magnetic Loop on Ebay, and it has arrived. Here it is after readying the installation (below) and placed on a Pyle Speaker Stand with a bracket mount on the eaves of my house:
This is my first 6 Meter contact ever! It happened on May 4, 2020 on 50.313 (FT8) at 22:58Z (6:58 PM my time), with TG9ANF. He is 1004 miles away from me here in FL. using my HF 20M Vertical antenna. I ordered a 6m Dipole which I am waiting for to arrive at the end of this week. :) The Kenwood TS-711A for VHF, TS-911A for UHF, and the SP-430 External Speaker arrived! I also have on its way a matching Kenwood TS-440S/AT transceiver for HF. Photos forthcoming upon arrival.
I picked up an excellent-condition Kenwood SP-430 Speaker on Ebay to match the Kenwood TS-711, also on the way.
Actual photos will be posted upon receipt of the transceiver.I just purchased a mint condition, used Kenwood TS-711A VHF Multi-Mode Transceiver and a Kenwood TS-811 UHF Multi-Mode Transceiver from W2PP. These are the "matching pair" Kenwoods, noted in the ad below. I also ordered a 2M Loop Antenna to be installed outside to be used with the transceiver on CW/SSB.
I completed my Siltronix station by procuring a Siltronix SP-1011 External Speaker. Here is a photo of the completed station, which hearkens back to my CB days back in 1977-1978.
