2017 - FUTURE PLANNING FOR NEW HAM RADIO STATION

No activity was recorded during the entire year due to family health issues.

In November 2017, I began purchasing some new ham radio gear and accessories. I found a sweet deal on facebook for a refurbished Drake TR-7.  I also found someone selling the rare Drake CW-75 Electronic Keyer, as well as a mint Drake 7077 microphone.....and purchased both. I sold the Shure 450D.  I also purchased an Astatic SIlver Eagle Final Edition microphone, a Vibroplex Deluxe Original Bug (chrome), a Vibroplex Iambic Paddle (chrome), and a Vibroplex straight key (chrome). There will be two stations set up: one Drake TR-5 (which I already own) and one TR-7. My brother also shipped me his Drake R7A to me as a gift! The R7A will look nice right next to the TR7.

Additionally, I have always wanted a Browning Golden Eagle MK IVA CB radio. Well I found a mint one on  Ebay and pulled the trigger. I also purchased a pristine Astatic Golden Eagle microphone to go with it.

Photos to follow!

I am renovating one room dedicated to the ham shack. Here are some photos - more to come!
